I was brought in as a consultant for issues with their taxidermy collections. After speaking with staff I discovered that they had never cleaned their taxidermy and had no IPM.
During my visit I:
-
Identified a major pest infestation
-
Cleaned Taxidermy
-
Taught staff about and how to implement integrated pest management
-
Consulted on other collections issues

A major component to all of our classes at IUPUI is giving back to the community in someway. As part of our coursework for Preventative Conservation class, we went over to Eagle Creek Park, Ornithology Center to clean their taxidermy. We spent the afternoon in their galleries ensuring that:
-
The specimens were cleaned
-
There was no sign of infestation
