I'd be happy to discuss my work in further detail with you!

I believe my various educational and work experiences have led me to become a well rounded museum professional. I have worked in both large and small institutions. I have become acquainted with the challenges museum professionals face on a day to day basis. I am ready to meet these challenges in order to serve the museum in the best way possible.

Working within a museum is more than simply making sure the paperwork is correct, items are stored safely, and nice things are on display; it is about being an advocate for the collections.

It is about ensuring they are properly cared for in all situations (in storage, in transits, on display etc). It is about allowing researchers in to study the items. It is about getting the items out of the collection and into exhibitions where people can learn from them. It is about working with exhibit designers and educators to create the best possible environment for visitors to make connections. Maria Recio (2013) says it best,  “Any museum is just a collection of inanimate objects. But in the right context, they become alive and can be transportive, evoking a time and atmosphere that is almost tangible”.

I want to be a part of this process. I want to do my job in the best possible way so that others have the opportunity to make connections. I see my role not as excessively a collections person, but as a part of a larger institutional goal.

I'm currently seeking employment in the museum field. I would be more than happy to discuss my work with you in more detail and submit a formal resume and cover letter.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
