Collections Work:
In 2008 I started as a collections volunteer in the "Behind the Scenes" program. My first summer I washed pottery and labeled artifacts at the Museum Support Center. I also assisted with collections tours.
I've since stayed a volunteer, and completed a non-credit internship. I work whenever I can which is usually during the summer and during school holidays.
During my time I have:
-
Worked both at The Museum Support Center (MSC) and the downtown museum location
-
Assisted Collections Manager and Museum Staff with various projects.
-
Experience with EMu collections software
-
Housed and Rehoused objects
-
Preformed object inventories
-
Researched genealogy for projects
-
Photographed objects for database
-
Cleaned countless objects
-
Labeled objects
-
Created IPM maps and checked traps
