What is Access Indy?
From Mission: AccessIndy is a movement to unite museum and cultural arts professionals as they work toward improving access and inclusion within their organizations. Although accessibility has improved greatly since the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, there are still many physical, communication and social barriers that prevent people with disabilities from enjoying all the enriching experiences offered by museums and cultural arts venues. By working together to share ideas and raise industry standards, we have the power to create new opportunities for people with disabilities to become active members of their communities through participation in exhibits, programs, shows and other activities we deliver to the public.
We offer roundtable discussions focused on topics related to access and inclusion. We also provide resources on our website to build cultural organizations' capacity for meeting the needs of all people, regardless of their abilities.
